A catch-all functionality that is enabled for a certain email mailbox will allow you to receive emails that are sent to email addresses that do not really exist. In other words, if you remove an email address and someone still sends an email message to it, or to any misspelled email address under the exact same domain, you’ll receive the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality implies that you will no longer miss an email for any reason, which could be vital in case you are running some company, for example. Since you may start receiving spam messages, you can use the catch-all option with email filters in order to receive only legitimate email messages in your inbox. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting
In case you have a web hosting with us and you want to enable the catch-all feature for a certain mailbox that you’ve got in the web hosting account, it will take literally only a click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in your account. You can pick one single address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will enable the feature instantaneously, so all email messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button once again will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will show a warning notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all email address can be configured with a couple of clicks of the mouse if you have a semi-dedicated hosting service with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed via our in-house created Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to set up email addresses under any domain name hosted here. To enable the catch-all functionality for a specific mailbox, you’ll need to click the sign with the same name, which will be on the right side of each email address. Deactivating this option can be done in the exact same fashion and will not require more than one click either. If the catch-all functionality has already been enabled for a certain domain, you’ll receive a warning text message. The same goes if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never deactivate or edit any feature automatically.
